[Day 9] Do You Hear What I Hear

Do You Hear What I Hear

Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy
Do you hear what I hear?
Ringing thru the sky, shepherd boy
Do you hear what I hear?

Our greatly anticipated Savior was born with little fanfare. Our King quietly arrived in the darkness of night. God sent his only Son into the world FOR ALL THE WORLD, yet how would they know He had arrived?

I can't even begin to imagine the "communication network" in place when Jesus was born. To say that news spread by word of mouth is an understatement. There was no newspaper or broadcast, no telephone, no Google or Facebook, no texting or email. Jesus' birth announcement was not mailed out with a cute little photo of the bouncing baby boy. No, word was spread by those who knew sharing with those who didn't. Face to face, from person to person, multiplying and moving outward like ripples across a still pond.

Mark 16:15-16 says-

And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned..."

We have been called to proclaim the gospel, spread the good news, to those we come into contact with.

How are you spreading the Word?
