Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
Mild He lays His glory by;
Born that man no more may die.
Born to raise the sons of earth;
Born to give them second birth.
Tonight my husband made a comment to our oldest son, "When you smile like that, you look like a handsome young man." It was pretty funny since that's what he is anyway! (I prefer the smile to the scowl, of course.) I love talking with him about his future and what he thinks he might like to do. He's almost 14 now, but it seems like yesterday that my husband and I were holding our first tiny baby boy and dreaming of all the things he might be when he grows up. *Sigh* Where does the time go?
When I stop to consider that Jesus was once Mary's first tiny baby boy, I can't help but think she must have dreamed of His future too. She knew He was the Son of God, that He was sent with one purpose, how could she know what looked like? He was sent here to die, so we wouldn't have to. He was sent here to give us hope and new life!
1 Peter 1:3 says
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...
You know the true reason for Jesus' birth, but how are you showing your gratitude for the new life He gives you? How are you sharing it with those who don't know?
