Waiting

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
Psalm 27:14

Waiting is never easy. I think that God created us with this overwhelming anticipation for Him and His Kingdom, that we never quite learn to slow down and just wait.

We are waiting on the LORD right now. Waiting for His Timing. Waiting…and trying to be patient.

Soon…He will call my father-in-law home to Heaven. Soon.

It seems cruel to hope that his time will come soon, but he has been suffering. We have been praying for God to be merciful and take him home NOW…but then He reminds me that He is merciful…Yes, He is…and I will praise Him always, even in my waiting, even in my heartache, even when every part of my tired body screams for rest….even then I will praise Him.

Casting Crowns

I was sure by now
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as You mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
 
I'll praise You in this storm
And I will life my hands
For You are who You are

Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
 
I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You

And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
 
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
